WOYW Wednesday?!

Another Wednesday is here already... what happened to Monday?? So, What's On Your Work desk Wednesday?? Pop over to Julia's and have a nosey at everyone's draws... and workspace!
Short post (about 2', nah only joking) because I'm not here, and this is on timer, and I'm doing that bad four letter word, work... This was my bench last night and now, as I've just carted things from the living room back to my craft room.
Normal rubbish! I should be doing something completely different but I've been doodling. I've still got to work out how to do all this digital stuff but I think I might be getting there. Got a slightly newer version of My Craft Studio, which is pretty basic (the one on telly looks better, but I'm not grumbling coz the original was a free download via email and this one I only paid the postage) anyway, I drew the images, scanned them and opened them in 'My Craft Studio' to make them smaller., well any size ready. I think they actually look better smaller. I'll try and make a card with one of them before next week! Any words of wisdom would be gratefully received!! Thank you to my new followers, I will put links in when I'm home! Thank you for stopping by, I shall be over to see you soon! (quick, let's hide!)

The Imposter! The Easter Egg Bear!!

Seeing voice over man has strangely disappeared, I'll sing...hemhem
'If you go down to the woods today, you're sure of a big Surprise. If you go down to the woods today you'd better go in disguise!
And that's just what this naughty bear has done, so he can go and collect the Easter Bunny's Easter Eggs!!! Hope you are all joining in with the Easter Egg Hunt posted above. Mr Blogger was misbehaving almost as much as the naughty bear, so I've put him in a post of is own!! ( the bear that is, not Mr Blogger!)
He's such a cute little bear, I just have to find him some challenges!!! Pop over to Beary Dust Stamps to see him and his friends in Susan's shop!!

I wasn't sure quite where or how to put The Impostor on a card, so, after a bit of scribbling, I drew a background for him, coloured it with Promarker pens, scanned it, printed it out twice and decoupaged the trees as well as the naughty bear!!
I hope you're having fun joining in with the Easter Egg Hunt in the Post above! It starts over on One Stitch At A Time's Change Blog Some of the links may be a bit iffy, but you'll find your way round! Have Fun!!!

The font I used on the outside is of the card is called 'Girls Are Weird' and can be downloaded for free HERE

Chocolate Brownies, Yum!

Made some recipe cards for a swap on the Quirky Craft's forum last week. Luckily Hubby John had made some Brownies (coz it was my birthday and I just love chocolate in any size, shape or form!) so I could take pictures of the said brownies and stick them onto my recipe card, like so. The picture's show two cards, the recipe side and the ingredients on the other side... (So...if you want to know how to make them and how much of what to put where, come and join in the swap!
Hope you're ready for the weekend. Hope your fingers are fit to start running or should I say hopping, across your keyboards...(what is she on about??) Something very eggsorinary will be going on between us DT members of OSAAT (who?) over the weekend and lasting all next week. Eggactly what it is I can't say...but it'll be very eggciting!!

On An Egg Hunt??? Scroll down, you're nearly there!!!!!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?!

What's On you Workdesk Wednesday? Brought to you in high definition colour by Julia over on Stamping ground!! I'm a bit late today. Did get up and took a few pictures but you know how the clock magically jumps forward half an hour when only two minutes have passed when you have to go somewhere, like work, but then, weirdly, only manages to tick one hour for every three, when you finally get to work. Not that that actually happens to me, well very rarely, as I like what I do, but sometimes just when you need a few extra hours, they vanish. So, here I am now taking a few pictures of my terribly untidy craft room with not much going on, only mess!! And blogger keeps flashing ERROR in red...(damn) But there is a story going on here, even if you can't see it!! The bunny drawings I did last night are for a local Easter Competition... I'm not happy with them yet though, they need to be more cute!! and at the moment I feel they're a bit Monty Python-ish scary!! I half expect to see the knights that say 'nic' to suddenly appear! 'Run away! Run away!!'
There's also my new humongous punches. I ordered them last June!! The shop closed down at Christmas but has reopened and I received a phone call, 'Do you still want your punches!?' Well, seeing they were all at least £2-£3 cheaper than anywhere else I said "Yes please," and have been living on left overs all week!! The heart punch I'm not happy with. It's suppose to punch out large heart corners. It says on the back of the packaging that it can punch from 120-150gsm card stock...but it can't. Mind you, that could just be me, weakling that I am with my limpy leg and bent finger!!! I guess it would work if I used my foot!! (still, in theory I only paid £3 for it!)
Oh, the black and white paper is there ready to make an ATC for a forum Competition... to use only Black and white. Hmmm...maybe I shouldn't be showing you them?? Aw, well...I might change my mind! Tilda's left over from my DT card, which I made Sunday. I did a bit of paper piecing. And I spy some ones address, who I owe some stamped images!! Run out of ink and card, but I'm now stocked up!! They will be in the post today!! (Honest!!) As you can see, while I type this Star Trek is on the Telly!
I also found a bargain this week... This cardboard shelving thingy, it only cost a pound and I've tidied up a little bit and have put some of my A4 and 6x6 papers in there as well as two of my Useful-boxes, and a large plastic container that had to be lifted out from under three or four others every time I wanted to use anything inside it. This way I can just grab it!! The new box is also long enough to put away at the back some Christmas papers and some foam squares, which I'm not likely to use for ages.
I stand to craft, I find it easier, but I do sit at my laptop (with keyboard as I just hate that finger touch mouse, I find it very slow and fiddly! Also here's a picture of the new toy hubby bought me. I have a couple of add on hard drives coz my poor lap top gets really full of stuff (although hubby called it crap!) and sometimes what I want is on one of the other hard drives, which means I have to unplug something, like the printer or the web cam or the speakers or the mouse or the keyboard...yes...and then I wonder why they don't work!! but then, when I find the thing I want, I can't print it, coz the printer's not plugged in. Well, you can send to the printer and then unplug and replug everything but that gets really frustrating!! So, hubby, coz he loves gadgets, hunted out this little toy, that changes colour, I have no idea why, but it looks cute! so I can have everything plugged in at the same time!! Web cam and speakers, both printers (yes, I nicked hubby's old one and they both now with ink!!) extra hard drive, keyboard, mouse and Bamboo and of course still have room to plug my Digi camera thingy into!
The bottom photo is almost the same as the top photo only ...one small change....I wonder who can spot it!
Well, I think that's me done for today!! Pop over to the Stamping Ground and see what every one else has been up to!
Thank you for stopping by!!

Birthday Tilda

Did this little pint sized Tilda card for a card competition on one of the forums I'm on. Card Making & PaperCraft, which was really lucky as I also had to make a very quick card for a forum buddy who joined the birthday card list about two days before her birthday!! So, off it went...hope she liked it..
Of course the Tilda was already coloured with Promakers and Copic pens and cut out, otherwise I guess she would've taken a little bit longer. I put half the card into the embossing folder, used the ribbon to cover the bit that didn't get embossed and for something for Tilda to sit on.
Normally I would've probably put this card onto a larger card as a topper and added more bling, more flowers and at least one butterfly, but it doesn't look too bad...except for the flowers...couldn't find my quickie glue pen anywhere so dabbed a bit of PVA glue onto the centre of the flowers and then spilt the glitter everywhere! Aw well...at lest it wasn't milk!

**Update!!! My Card won the competition!!**

Rubbish ATC's.

These are three ATC's I made a few weeks ago for a forum swap, and then chickened out!! (why?)
Well, they were suppose to be made up out of all your left overs bits and pieces. I had half a teddy, a very badly coloured purple teddy, an already stamped out and coloured Christmas stocking and loads of little bits of paper too nice to throw away (although most people would have done!) and a scrapbook page I'd printed at ATC size just to see what it looked like! (That's the rainbow you can see)
I didn't want my 'recycling' ATC's to come with their own smelly vision!! I slight aroma of the dustbin! But then when I spyed some other ATC's all looking pretty with ribbon and bows and loads of gems and glitter..well..these nearly did find their way to the dustbin! Their fame now is to get into as many WOYWW's pictures as possible!! So, if you do spy them, say hi!! Thanks for stopping by!

Oh look!!! Is that an EGG!?!

Click on the Easter Egg!!

A Quirky Flower Challenge!

It's that QuIrKy Time again! Well done everyone who entered the last challenge. Fabulous makes, so many different styles. But now on with the new Challenge, over at Quirky Craft's, which I'm sure was set by Deanne (boss lady!) they want to see on your crafty makes...

!!Flowers!!
See! I told you it was easy!! I've seen some really fabulous cards and other makes using flowers, so I can't wait to see what you all come up with!! And who doesn't love a flower or two or three!!
This is my DT card for the challenge. I've used five different Pink Petticoat papers, on the first card all with flowers, oh, except for one, which has a poem and a varitety of flowery papers on the cards below. Some of the papers have tiny little flowers, while others have great BIG ones!
This challenge is once again kindly sponsored by...

Crafty Ribbons

Pop over and see some of their lovely ribbons and fibers, perfect for adding to cards! AND!!! of course, be in with a chance of winning some!!
Back to my card...Tilda was stamped twice once onto card and once on to patterned paper and then coloured with Promakers and Copic pens, and cut out. Her dress, socks, bow and ribbons have all been paper pieced using tiny flowers made even smaller by printing the sheet out in a smaller size.
I'm thinking I might add this card to the challenge over on the Digi-shack. Not sure if Tilda will count though, but they are doing paper piecing this time round . I won a prize from there the other week so looking forward to using some of their images!! (Can't wait!!)
***
Right! I'm back! It's been a lovely day, couldn't miss all that lovely sunshine and...I needed some glue!! So, while I was walking the sea wall and then hunting down some glue at the (not very local) craft shop, I put this on the timer... and the wrong draft (with no pictures!) was published so, I hope the right one is showing now!!
I did a bit of 'playing' with this, because I wasn't very happy with the thickness of the scalloped card, so I thought I'd add it to another card and show you how one card can easily become four or more!!
I've added a sentiment too. The font is too cute coz it has flowers on it!! It's called Floralies
I'm off now to hunt out some challenges. Don't forget to pop over to Quirky Crafts and see what all the other DT members have come up with! Looking forward to visiting your blogs and seeing all your makes! Thank you for stopping by!
Click the pictures to make them larger

It's Challenge Time so take it One Stitch at A Time!

Good Morning Sunday!!! And how are you today!?? Good!! Fabulous! Don't really want to hear about the op or that the cat's eaten the Sunday roast because I have two today, Challenges that is, not roasts, and first past the post is..
with their new Challenge...

Vintage

The Lovely June from Dezinaworld is sponsoring this weeks challenge.
You'll also find June at
Junes artyretreat.blogspot.com/
CreationsByjj Forum
As well as Trimcraft. A very busy and crafty lady!!

So, it's very simple! If you haven't anything in 'Vintage'..apart from a rare bottle of wine or a Rolls Royce, pop over to June's ArtFreebies and have a look at some of the goodies she has.
Have a look at the other DT members cards too, they are fabulous!! Make a card or anything you fancy or consider crafty in any 'Vintage style you chose! Then pop over to OSAAT's blog and join in! Pop over anyway to find out who won last week's challenge, who won the top three and who run off with the guy from the chip shop...(ooops..sorry wrong programme)
I'm pretty rubbish at Vintage, in fact, this is only my second Vintage card ever and I nearly didn't make it!
I used K&Co paper from the very first set I bought from QVC. It's called Bordeaux Garden Flat Paper. I've dotted a bit of Stickles over it and added velum, trimmed with my Martha Stewart lace punch, ribbon and eyelash wool down one side. The image of course is one of June's. The centre of the flower is actually an upholstery tack with the nail bit cut off and the lovely 'gems' were from my secret Santa and are the first time they's been used!! I think the colour really goes well with the paper. At the time of typing this I hadn't put any sentiment on the card, but was thinking on the lines of 'Always Thinking of You' or...Just Because...or "D'you think they can tell it's a wig?".....Perhaps you can think of something!! Back later to add more links and take out all the mistakes!! Bye for now!!
Challenges
Ooh-la-la- Anything goes
fab' n' funky challenges- it's all new
(the first time I've ever used the papers. The image is new, the eyelash wool is new, and the pearls)

A QUiRkY LoOk

You're going to love the next challenge over on Quirky Craft's this fortnight. It's the kind of challenge that can be very very easy, or you can pull out all the stops and make a masterpiece of crafty art! So!! We'd like to see even more people taking on the challenge. And because it lasts for two whole weeks there's loads of time to enter, and, you can enter as many as you like, providing of course they are all new makes!
Once again Craft Ribbons is very kindly sponsoring the challenge. So, here's my card. What d'you think??? Could be anything really. Pop over to Quirky Crafts this evening and see what all the other DT members have come up with and join in the fun!!
Scroll down to see a sneak peek at the new Challenge that's starting over on OSAAT at noon!

A Very Sneaky Peek of OSAAT's Next Challenge

Actually, this card nearly never got made. Is that English?? This card...(small brain thinks very slowly) nearly didn't get made...(ah, that's better) I've been shouting at it all week! Poor thing! Completely different card from last week, when I had a dinosaur/dragon thingy coming out of a crate and roaring, ggggrrrr! This week I have a...ah! You're tricky! No...not telling. Even if you bribe me with chocolate!! (or bisqwits!) Come back tomorrow and see!! Or better still, pop over to One Stitch At A Time's Challenge blog and find out what's going on! (and then pop back and tell me!)

Friday 19 March 2010

Thank U

This was a quicky thank you card I did a couple of weeks ago. All Pink Petticoat Papers and Images, coloured with Promakers and Copic Pens. It didn't turn out quite the way I wanted it to, as I'd run out of ink. It was suppose to be one of my 'Pocket Cards' to put stamped images in but I had to make it a little bit smaller so the paper would fit. It changed colour towards the end of the print. Sometimes when this happens it can be okay and you get a great new colour, (red turns pink) but this time it was a bit too wishy-washy, so I cut it off. Gez won a guessing game I did on one of my 'Whats on your Workdesk Wednesday' Posts...or in Gez's case, it's What's On Your Washer Wednesday!! Some ATC's coming up tomorrow and maybe..two sneaky peeks...Thanks for stopping by!

Spring ATC's or find the Tooth Bunny

As you can see, I'm here and not there, but I will be there at the weekend, dog sitting that is, and not here... Meanwhile... here's three ATC's I did last week for the Cardmaking Download forum's monthly swap. I started them in good time and then, as always..forgot! Luckily Ali reminded me and they got sent off in time. Just hope they're okay. I do worry that when people get them the other end they think..'what in Henry is this?? '(usually because I've misread the theme!)I mean... Spring...What first comes to your mind??
First I thought of a spring...from an old clock and then (horror) very old false teeth (as worn by George Washington click here ) that had springs clipped to the sides, to help them to open and close...then, thank goodness,> I thought of Tigger...with his springy tail...then daffodils and then bunnies!! And that's where my very simple mind stopped.
A little while ago I won some lovely Birthday candy from Dragonlady also called Ali, but not the same Ali. She sent me some lovely little clear stamps, featuring Christmas Fairies and words as well as, tiny heart flowers, mushrooms, dragonflies and bunnies!!
So...I drew the back ground myself using my Promaker pens and then stamped the bunnies, flowers, dragonflies and the mushrooms over the top. This way you still get the whiskers and stems you see. Stamp them again on a scrap of card, colour, cut out and attach with 3D foam pads (cut in half) I hope whoever gets them, likes them...I think they're a little better than they could've been!
Right...off to do another couple of Spring ATC's for the Quirky Craft Forum. Now, where's granddad's old teeth??

Challenges
The Pink Elephant- 'Spring'
Tanda Teaser -'Simply Spring'
Rosie-D's Challenge- 'Think Spring'
Frosted Designs - 'Think Spring' (flower)
(there's a few there...but they are small!)

Happy St Patricks day and WOYWW?

Happy St Patricks Day, for all those of you who celebrate it!! The only time I can wear my St Pat's T-shirt! (Oh dear, I have two, which one shall I wear??!!)
This is on the blogger timer, which probably means, you're reading this sometime next week... it does appear to have a mind of it's own! Hopefully, it's worked, and has magically appeared round about nine in the morning, when I'm at work. I'm dog sitting for most of the day, right up until waaay past everyone's bed time, so won't be able to play WOYWW, (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?)but it's become a habit now, a must do!!
So, this is my work top at midnight (Wednesday morning) and it'll look the same Midnight Thursday morning, so it's not really cheating!
Nothing much going on..a big give away to where you'll find my hubby today. A few of the stamps and punches I got for my birthday, (I love the pussy cat sleeping on a flower pot!!) also some birthday candy winnings, I had from Dragonlady the other week, I used the clear stamps to make some 'Spring' ATC's, which I'll post about later. I love the little stamps, because they have little fairies for Christmas but also have tiny bunnies, mushrooms and dragonflies!
There's also some freebie Easter papers in there somewhere that came free with Cardmaking and Paprecraft Magazine...they haven't got them to down load yet, but there are plenty of other papers you can download for free. I can also spy some more clear cat stamps, free from Paper Craft Inspirations Magazine and some 'Lucky Clover' back ground paper that you can download now!
Okay... it's time to go!! Don't forget to pop over to Stamping Ground and see what every body else has on their work top. Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back later, to add links and to see what you've all been up to. I might call in if I take my laptop with me...(does that sound as sad to you as it just did to me?? I must get out more...) Have a good Wednesday!!!
(Click the pictures to make them bigger)

Cards For The Mums

Happy Tuesday!! (Yes, I know it' says Monday, that's coz I saved it and then forgot)...but I didn't want to put these cards on the blog until after Mother's Day because now that hubby has managed to speed up her steam fueled computer, my Mum sometimes pops in here, just to see what I've been up to!
I've used Forever Friend bears and papers on both these cards. The 3D images were probably made for Valentine's Day, but I think they work for Mother's Day too! Both were also made from white pearlised card folded in half. The bottom one however has been edged with a pink Promaker pen.
As you can see, they're almost the same, but not quite. We could do a 'spot the difference'. (But we won't!) I've put one extra layer on the top card, but I don't think it notices that much. If you click on the picture (Crafty Chris!!) it will enlarge a little more so you can see it a little better.
In both cases I put the ribbon through my sticky label maker thingy, in the shape of an X, which has turned out to be very useful for sticking ribbons. Especially lacy ribbons with holes. I got it through Create and Craft (it has their logo on it) and only had to pay the postage!
In side the card, I've put a rhyme, not too silly...although, glue does rhyme very well with you!
The lower card, I did first, for John's Mum. I made a paper flower using Woodware punches and a little bit of sticklers glitter glue and also used handmade paper behind the bear.
I wasn't sure about the 'eye-lash' wool at first, but it grew on me, so it stayed.
Both sentiments I did on my laptop in 'Word.'
The font is a freebie, one I've linked before, it's called Apple Butter but in case you missed it last time, you can download it for free, HERE
The insert font is also a freebie, it's called England Hand DB and can be downloaded HERE
So there you are...two cards, nearly the same, but not quite!!
Hope I can find a few challenges for these cards. The Forever Friends Challenge blog suddenly comes to mind!...but no...then I found Teddy Stampers..but this is not a stamp..boo! Oh, well, I'll add them later if I can find any!
Nearly my tea-time (or dinner time, as it's a cooked dinner, not ham sandwiches) and just time to say hello and welcome (((big wave))) to new follower Marlene hope you'll all pop over to her fascinating blog and say 'hi!'
That's it for now..back tomorrow with What's On Your Desk Wednesday...It'll be on timer (so will probably turn up on Thursday) as I'm dog sitting all day!! Woff!! (or is that arff arff?)
